Matcha Shortbread Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons matcha green tea powder
  • ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, matcha powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until well combined.
  5. Roll the dough into a log, wrap in plastic, and chill for 30 minutes.
  6. Slice the log into ¼-inch thick rounds and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
