Matcha Pound Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tablespoons matcha powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, making sure each is well incorporated before adding the next.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, matcha powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  6. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until smooth.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  8. Bake for about 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
